Alanima was created in 2009, when an artist and an art restorator decided to join in jewelry design. Laura Perez Ortega and Antigoni Leakou explore organic and geometrical forms and experiment with unexpected color combinations, using various materials like wire, waxed thread, fabric, buttons, zippers. Every design they create is unique. Alanima cooperates with the gift shops of Benaki museum and museum of Greek Folk Art and participates in exhibitions and bazaars of handmade jewelry.
AthensVaan team was created in 2011 by the architects Vasia Krokida and Adriana Voutsina, who exploited their knowledge from their studies in architecture school of NTUA and their experience in architecture and decoration, and decided to experiment in the field of design and handmade jewelry. Their contact with industrial materials and specialized processing methods affects their work and makes it unique. The geometric shapes, clean lines and inventive use of materials give jewelry a dynamic and aesthetic aspect. With emphasis on wood and gold metal elements, such as brass nuts, and special color combinations with the appropriate fabrics, strings and threads, they produce unique creations that escape from mainstream.
Cannot Not Design is a team consisting of two activists, Nikoletta Antonopoulou and Michael Semoglou. Since 2003 when they joined their power, they are involved with design and printing operations, with an emphasis on publication design. They have both studied in England. Nikoletta after finishing the BA in Graphic Design at Kent Institute of Art & Design, she continued her studies obtaining an MA in Typo / Graphic Studies at London College of Printing. Michael obtained a BA in Graphic Design from the Kent Institute of Art & Design and an MA in Typeface Design from the University of Reading.

Rovithi and Foant Asour formed the Athens-based industrial design team DEDE
DextrousDesign in 2007. Humor and creative thinking, as unconscious
but essential components of human existence, help DEDE understand the world
around them and communicate their thoughts and beliefs. Using intuitively understood
humor as a starting point for the designing of their products, DEDE build
strong bonds between the product and its context of use.They
have participated in numerous exhibitions and design fairs worldwide, winning
many prestigious awards on the way.
Aliki Rovithi was born in Athens,
Greece. She
received a university degree in mathematics from the Aristotle University of
Thessaloniki, Greece and a BA (Hons) in industrial and product design from the Middlesex University
(Athens
branch).
Foant Asour was born in Athens,
Greece. He
attended the arabic high school in Athens and
received a higher diploma in industrial and product design from the Middlesex University
(Athens
branch).
Dionysis Livanis was born in Athens and grew up in Ithaca. He is involved with design during the last twenty years. He has studied graphic design in Athens, Bilbao and London and is the Creative Director of the creative agency the design shop. He has participated in exhibitions of graphic design in London, Prague, Athens, Istanbul and Thessaloniki and has taught and given lectures on design in Athens, Istanbul and Beirut.
Elisavet Moraki was born in Athens. She studied photography at the Photography Circle in Athens and at London College of Printing, University of Arts. Until 2007 she was a member of the creative team WARDA. Her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions. She has been involved with the photography for cinema, theater, architecture and discography. Her works have been published in magazines, newspapers, contemporary art catalogues and theater publications, and she has also published a collection of photographs entitled "Lilium". She lives and works in Athens.
Evrydiki Tsistraki was born in Chania, Crete. She lives and works in Athens. She deals with jewellery design and manufacture during the last 4 years. She has studied International and European Studies at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences and she has been occupied with photography, design and constructions.
Fabrit was created by Maria Makri. The name deliberately reminds the word fabric, because all fabrit creations are made of fabric. Bags, totes, neckwarmers, key holders…If there was a definition, it would be “make it with fabric”. Every creation is handmade and the same fabric combinations are rarely used again.
George Triantafyllakos was born and lives in Thessaloniki. He has studied Computer Science at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, but he is also involved with art and design. He has participated in design and poster exhibitions in Greece, Siberia, Slovakia and Russia and has been awarded in many of them. His work has appeared in many magazines relative with the design and he has also published a photographic collection entitled "My N.Y.".
George Tzavaras was born and lives in Athens. He mainly deals with graphic design, but his great love is illustration. He studied graphic design at TEI of Athens and continued his studies in London, obtaining Master of Arts in illustration, at Camberwell College of Arts, University of Arts. He has worked as a graphic designer, art director and illustrator. His works are inspired by contradictions encountered in real life, the contemporary life and the literature. He has participated in several exhibitions, while in 2006 he was awarded with the third prize of EVGE in the category of the Young Artists.
Giannis Mamoutzis is a ceramic designer. Nine years ago, when he first laid his hands on clay, he discovered a way of self-expression which inspired him to create pieces of art. He considers clay as a very challenging material, which urges him to experiment with forms and shapes. His creations are organic forms that consist complete entities in the space. The harmony and consistency of his artworks is achieved through the elaborate combination of lines and curves. The minimal design and the color contrast characterize his creations, which usually surpass their own structure and tempt the spectator to consider them as unique entities.
Giganto books was founded in 2003 by Tassos Papaioannou and is involved with comic publication by young, Greek and foreign artists. So far, giganto books has published 30 comics and works with more than 40 artists. They have participated in many festivals, have given lectures and have organized events and exhibitions in several Greek cities.
Ιnkhead has been operating for ten months in Naples of Exarchia, Athens. Aristides, the person behind inkhead, paints and designs on clothes. All designs are created, edited and printed by him, silk screened most of times, as originally done on paper. His point is not fashion, but a t-shirt which expresses in some way the person who wears it.
Joanna Kostika is a photographer and designer. She was born in Athens, where she lives and works. She studied Graphic Design at VACALO Institution in Athens and at Kingston University in London and completed her studies at Central Saint Martins in London with a Master of Arts in Communication Design. Her photographic themes have to do with fashion, people, city life, travel and nature. She has participated in numerous exhibitions in Athens and London. Her work has been presented in popular journals, like Tank and The Breeder. She has also published a collection of photographs entitled "India as opposed to India".
Maria Kefala was born and grew up in Piraeus. She studied Graphic Design at VAKALO Art & Design College. In 2008 she participated in the 7th poster competition "10 images for Ithaca" where she was distinguished for her participation and in 2011 she won the second award at the Greek Graphic Design and Illustration Awards (EBGE), in 'Young Designers' category. She worked as a graphic designer and illustrator at the creative agency the design shop from 2008 to 201.
The artist Marios-Sergios Iliakis was born in Athens and studied stage design and multimedia in London. He began working on photos and searching the depth in the images since the first years of his studies. He continued with a graduate program of "Digital Arts" in the School of Fine Arts, Athens and started dealing with stereoscopy. He lives in Athens and works as a visual trainer.
Fani Vogiatzi was born in Thessaloniki. She studied French literature at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Design Interpretation and Costume Construction at Central School of Speech and Drama in London. Returning to Greece, she began to create her own jewellery and accessories, which quickly became successful in art shops. She also participated in Pret a Porter Paris collection, which led to the approach of international clientele. Within the Green Design Festival 2010 she took part in the exhibition DIY Fashion Tales. She signs her creations as 'Maslinda', which means "the most beautiful"!
Pi6 is an Athens based communication design studio, founded in 2005 by Rena Chrysikopoulou and Michael David Ochs. Providing a wide range of design services, pi6 mainly focuses on corporate and editorial design projects. They are co-founders and co-organizers of the annual Design Walk exhibition in Athens and participate in exhibitions such as Mapping Europe and 20 years to know of Apeiron photos, Green Design Festival and Ten Images For Ithaca. They have been awarded by national and international design competitions such as the EBGE (Greek Graphic Design and Illustration Awards), the European Design Awards, the International Poster Biennale in Warsaw, the Chicago International Poster Biennial and the iF communication design awards.
Red Creative is a design firm providing full professional services in the field of visual communication. The company was established in 1989, in Thessaloniki, Greece. Over the years, valuable associates have joined the team, strengthening with their professional expertise the creative output of the firm, which is considered one of the top design studios in Greece, with numerous awards and distinctions at a national and European level.
Helen Avramidou and Eleftheria Daniilidi, as the 3 for art, have been occupied since 2008 with graphic applications, painting and design for decorative and utilitarian objects, metalsmithing, as well as cloth design. Their creations have been presented in many exhibitions and galleries, including Cheap Art, TAF, TINT Contemporary art gallery, Bar Tessera, ROTA EXPOATHENS and others.
The design shop is a creative agency based in Athens. It was founded in 2004 and deals with the development of strategic branding, the design of corporate identity applications, books, catalogues, websites and e-shops. It was repeatedly awarded in the European Design Awards and the Greek Graphic Design and Illustration Awards. It also organizes the international poster competition "Ten Images for Ithaca" and co-organizes the annual event "Design Walk".
VAST is a team consisting of Vasilis and Stathis Petropoulos. Stathis has studied Industrial Design at Syracuse Univercity U.S. and Vasilis has finished economics at Lοndon School of Cοmmerce in England. VAST appeared in the design market in 2002, designing and producing ceramic and porcelain objects for everyday use. Simplicity, contemporary patterns and functionality characterize their creations intended either for decorative or utilitarian purposes. Their creations are internationally recognized and have travelled to famous shows in Europe, such as Maison et Objet in Paris, 100% Design in London and Ambiente in Frankfurt.
Zoe Keramea is an artist. She was born in Athens and graduated as Meisterschülerin from the School of Arts in Berlin (Universität der Künste). In 1989 she is awarded with a Fulbright Grant to make a research in New York on her own printmaking project, which in the U.S. is called zoetype. She is interested in exploring enfolded surfaces using sculpture, printmaking, drawing and ceramics. She deals with the design and printing of books, notebooks, posters and toys, all having to do with visual challenges and geometric shapes. Her work is presented in solo and group exhibitions, in galleries and museums in Europe, America and Asia. She lives and works in Athens and New York.
Antonis Vassiliou and Ioannis Vagelakis are the design duo, 2D.
2D come from the area of graphic design and photography and they live in Athens, working in the field of decoration. They have co-operated with well-known companies such as Armandos Moustakis, Omnia, Sinu Artefactos, MI-RO, Fasma, Tthes Tzivelli etc. As they told us, the idea of creating jewelry made of Lego came up while making the decoration of a vitrine. Their moto is "Re-experience your childhood " and their creations have being loved from the beginning, including of course Legomaniacs.
Asprimera is a cultural interest company. It has a creative and a publishing department and is occupied with publications, visual communication and the Internet. A significant activity of asprimera is the creation of one of the most interesting internet sites on the Greek language, the "white word of the day", operating since 2003. The publishing department of asprimera is the natural continuation of "aspri leksi" publications and is mainly occupied within the fields of Language, Design, Architecture and Gastronomy. Asprimera won an EBGE Award for 2008 diary publication and 3 EBGE Awards for the best book design and best book cover in 2011.
Anna is the Australian designer behind Lila Ruby King. Anna has a Bachelor of Arts (hons) in visual arts, majoring in print media. Lila Ruby King began in 2007 in Athens, Greece, and is a small, environmentally aware, independent business that consists of jewelry and illustration. Anna’s inspirations include prickly pears, sage leaves, red peppers, bird feathers, horse hairs, anatomical studies, lost maps, old stamps, insect wings and plenty of other things. Anna works towards making Lila Ruby King a carbon neutral business. Where possible, she chooses her materials based on their environmental impact, working with found objects and recycled materials.
Βleaspro is not a team coming from the world of fashion. It is a team of graphic designers, industrial designers and architects who simply thought that the folklore touristic t-shirt style needs to be displaced by design images that present the modern, optimistic side of Greece. So they started to design t-shirts for tourists and visitors who are looking for something new, beautiful, alternative. Their base is a very small shop in Plaka, just 7 square meters, where they found the way to make it look like a ferryboat and smell like Greece! They built a shop with..."displacement" to host their beautiful creations that demonstrate the Greek culture in a different way.
Green Planet is a group of environmentally conscious people who believe that even small things that anyone can do, are important when it comes to the environment. By looking for products from well known foreign designers and manufacturers and introducing them to the Greek market, they turn this belief into action. All the suppliers they cooperate with, such as the women partnership Cop(m)adam from Turkey, the social enterprise XSProject from Indonesia, the companies Remarkable and Revolve from the UK, Flip & Tumble from the U.S. and Botanical PaperWorks from Canada, respect the environment and respect people. All of them, produce useful products with great design using materials that are environmentally friendly and/or are the result of re-usage of recycled products. Every time we choose a product by the Green Planet, we can be sure that we make a choice that, not only does not harm the environment, but also helps to its protection.
Christina Biliouri is a freelance product designer based in London. She graduated from
the Innovation Design Engineering joint course [MA + MSc] at the Royal
College of Art + Imperial College, London in 2010. She also has a diploma in Product and Systems Design Engineering, University of the Aegean, Greece. She has worked as a junior designer
at chd and Designersblock, alongside with freelance work. Her work
has a profound philosophical and social starting point and she enjoys
producing outcomes that provoke and work as social experiments.
Identifying, observing and interpreting human behaviours & dreams is
the essence of her experimental design process.
Maria Giannikouri deals with fashion and handmade creations. She enjoys experimenting with various styles and processing of clothes and accessories, which she signs as Ma Li Ya. She is an undergraduate student at the architecture school of NTUA and through her studies she began to understand better the meaning of site, size, style and color, but also to come to contact with new materials and techniques. Her dream is to combine architecture and fashion design, producing an alternative fashion style. Her inspirations reflect her strong ecological concerns and often she reuses old materials, transforming them into jewelry or accessories. At the same time she experiments with modern materials. So we could say that her creations are a blend of vintage and glamour, rock, recycling and Futurism.
Psarokokalo creative studio is a creative agency that operates in the field of object construction and fiber art since 2002. Maria Polyxa was born and lives in Athens. She has studied interior architecture at Vakalo College and Public Art at London Chelsea College of Art and Design. Psarokokalo currently designs dolls, accessories, utilitarian objects and undertakes special constructions for theatrical performances and individual needs.
Rumble > is an art workshop of alternative design with influences that come from music and the urban environment, ignoring fashion and market trends. Kostas Evgenikos, the person behind the workshop, was born and raised in Athens. He studied Graphic Design at TEI of Athens and deals only with things that fascinate him. He design t-shirts, limited edition prints, but also manufactures wooden handmade cadres with various materials and colors patina to frame his sketches. He teaches sketch and graphics courses in Public Educational Institutions. He has participated in several galleries with abstract works - matieres. He has worked and collaborated with major fashion companies in Greece and after a passage from creative agencies, printing workshops and other advertising agencies, he is now occupied with Rumble.
Manolis Angelakis was born in Athens in 1981. From scissors, collage and prints on the walls of his house, he continued his experimentation with photography (analog & digital) and most formats of the digital moving image. He works designing and creating within the full range of printing and specialty applications, using a variety of materials and new technologies for their implementation, with emphasis on more traditional printing methods, mainly silkscreen printing. He signs as Tind and works in his studio in the centre of Athens.
Eleanna Kotsikou was born in Athens. She is interested in the creative process as a whole, from the initial idea to the final result. She loves colors, design at all scales, diagrams, the sea, abandoned industrial sites and dancing. He has lived in France, Italy, Holland and England, but has never traveled outside Europe. She has studied architecture [AUTH] and Urban planning [Msc, TUDelft]. She sas worked with the architectural firm Boeri Studio [Milan], the design bureau Theorem [Athens] and was a member of the research team studio 09 of the Development Committee of Paris "Le Grand Paris". She writes for crafttuts+ and she sometimes writes about herself in the third person.
